Event: How can we effectively reach communities most impacted by COVID-19 and dispel misinformation about the vaccine? (Webinar)
Date/Time: 03/04/2021 at 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
by the Communications Network – Seattle
(from event page) Since the pandemic began, misinformation about COVID-19 and the vaccine has proliferated on mainstream and social media.
As new vaccines have brought hope for stemming the crisis, vaccination rates in Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities are lagging, while BIPOC communities are disproportionately affected by the virus in cases, hospitalizations, and deaths. Lack of access to the vaccine and distrust arising out of the medical industry’s mistreatment of their communities are some of the barriers.
Join us Thursday, March 4 at 4 pm for a conversation with community outreach and communications professionals working on vaccine distribution in BIPOC communities and COVID-19 research.
*Please keep in mind that COVID-19 continues to impact events and business operations. We recommend checking event websites for updates.
