Mental well-being is just as important as our physical well-being. When our behavioral health isn’t prioritized, other areas of our lives can be affected. For instance, depression is linked to increased rates of illness like diabetes and heart disease. On a day to day level, our motivation, job performance, and ability to enjoy life can also be impacted. Right now, many individuals and families in King County struggle to find access to behavioral health resources - facing barriers such as finances, transportation, and a lack of culturally responsive care.
At our August 13th meeting from 9:30-11:00 AM PST, workgroup participants will hear from two organizations that are making a difference in behavioral health through community advocacy and creative healing through art. The Office of Behavioral Health Advocacy (OBHA) and Path with Art will present on their work and resources for community members, followed by a Q and A. Members will also learn about upcoming training opportunities, partner announcements, and more.

About the Network Partner Workgroup
Hearing from and sharing space with fellow community members only strengthens our collective work to achieve a healthier King County. As part of the Community Care Network’s learning and sharing spaces, the Network Partner Workgroup creates space for relationship building, gauging community needs, sharing community resources and care coordination innovations, and discussing needs related to the Community Information Exchange (CIE) and Connect2 technology. Meetings typically feature at least one organization highlighting their services in addition to input and guidance discussions. This open membership group is facilitated by HealthierHere staff.
Feedback, input, and community participation are invaluable to help create future workgroup meetings. If you are interested in learning more, sharing more about your organization, or uplifting a specific service/program during a future meeting, please reach out to Olivia Butkowski, Network Capacity Building Program Manager, at obutkowski@healthierhere.org.
