Harm Reduction for Substance Use: Meeting People Where They’re At

June 18, 2024
March 20, 2019

Save the date for this free learning opportunity:

Join HealthierHere and renowned expert Susan E. Collins, PhD, for a discussion about harm reduction, substance use and the value of meeting people where they’re at. Dr. Collins is a licensed clinical psychologist, Associate Professor, and co-director of the Harm Reduction Research and Treatment (HaRRT) Center at the University of Washington – Harborview Medical Center. In this webinar, Dr. Collins will help us understand harm reduction as it is implemented on the policy, population, community and individual levels, discuss its historical roots, and provide a rationale for harm reduction treatment as a policy and clinical practice.

Dr. Collins draws from over twenty years of experience in substance use research, assessment and treatment. She currently works with a multidisciplinary research and clinical team, community-based agencies, traditional Native healers, and substance-using community members to codevelop and evaluate interventions that aim to reduce substance-related harm and improve quality of life for people who use substances and their communities. Don’t miss this special opportunity to learn from her knowledge and experience.
