Our physical health is so important to our overall well-being, and that includes taking care of our teeth. In King County, many people face significant barriers to accessing dental and oral healthcare. These include the high cost of services – especially for those without insurance, language and cultural barriers, a lack of dental providers in rural areas, and more.
During our June 11th meeting from 9:30-10:45 AM PST, participants will hear from Catherine Seneviratne and representatives from the Arcora Foundation about oral health resources available in King County. A DentistLink expert will share how people can find dentists in their area accepting Medicaid or offering pro bono services, and Arcora team members will talk about free services for children and families. Workgroup members will also learn about available oral health training opportunities for CHW’s being offered in various languages, and small grant opportunities for people and organizations incorporating oral health into their work.

About the Network Partner Workgroup
Hearing from and sharing space with fellow community members only strengthens our collective work to achieve a healthier King County. As part of the Community Care Network’s learning and sharing spaces, the Network Partner Workgroup creates space for relationship building, gauging community needs, sharing community resources and care coordination innovations, and discussing needs related to the Community Information Exchange (CIE) and Connect2 technology. Meetings typically feature at least one organization highlighting their services in addition to input and guidance discussions. This open membership group is facilitated by HealthierHere staff.
Feedback, input, and community participation are invaluable to help create future workgroup meetings. If you are interested in learning more, sharing more about your organization, or uplifting a specific service/program during a future meeting, please reach out to Olivia Butkowski, Network Capacity Building Program Manager, at obutkowski@healthierhere.org.
