Across the country — and here in King County — demand for food assistance continues to rise. Funding reductions and changes to essential programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) are making it harder for individuals and families to access the food they need. To help meet this moment, HealthierHere is launching a second Request for Proposals (RFP) to invest in local food assistance providers.
Who Can Apply?
HealthierHere is seeking proposals from established food assistance organizations that distribute at least 250,000 pounds of food annually. Eligible applicants include:
- Food banks
- Food pantries
- Mutual aid networks
- Community food programs
Grants will support direct food purchase and distribution, helping providers maintain or increase their capacity to serve King County residents.
Organizations who were funded in the first round are eligible for funding again in round two.
Grant Award Amounts
Funding is available for organizations of different sizes:
- Up to $25,000 for small organizations
- Up to $200,000 for large organizations
These grants are designed to provide immediate, short-term food relief to communities across King County.
