New Funding Opportunity for King County Food Assistance Providers

Food banks, pantries, mutual aid groups, and community food programs in King County can now apply for new grant funding to support food purchase and distribution.

November 24, 2025
November 24, 2025

Across the country — and here in King County — demand for food assistance continues to rise. Funding reductions and changes to essential programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) are making it harder for individuals and families to access the food they need. To help meet this moment, HealthierHere is launching a new Request for Proposals (RFP) to invest in local food assistance providers.

Who Can Apply?

HealthierHere is seeking proposals from established food assistance organizations that distribute at least 250,000 pounds of food annually. Eligible applicants include:

  • Food banks
  • Food pantries
  • Mutual aid networks
  • Community food programs

Grants will support direct food purchase and distribution, helping providers maintain or increase their capacity to serve King County residents.

Grant Award Amounts

Funding is available for organizations of different sizes:

  • Up to $25,000 for small organizations
  • Up to $200,000 for large organizations

These grants are designed to provide immediate, short-term food relief to communities across King County.

RFP Timeline (Funding Round 1)

  • Q&A Webinar: Tuesday December 2nd, 2025, 2-3pm PT
  • Proposals due: December 8, 2025
  • Partner selection: December 15, 2025
  • Funds awarded: December 17, 2025
  • Funding period: December 2025 – March 2026

A second round of funding will open in 2026.

How to Apply & Amplify

Interested food assistance providers can review the full eligibility criteria, application instructions, and required materials in the full Request for Proposals document.
