At our October 8th meeting from 9:30–11:00 AM PST, workgroup members will hear from two speakers. George Farrell (Hunkpapa Lakota People, Standing Rock Reservation), Engagement Program Manager at HealthierHere, will share a microlearning on Tribal Data Sovereignty. Following George’s presentation, we will hear from Franklyn Smith, Director of Community Resources at the Freedom Project and the co-founder of Fresh Start. Freedom Project is a Black led organization dedicated to dismantling oppressive systems, ending mass incarceration, and building accountable, thriving communities rooted in equity and liberation. Fresh Start works to connect individuals with valuable resources to help them re-integrate into their communities.
This meeting will explore how we can shift responses to crises, create pathways for healing, and move away from punitive systems.

About the Network Partner Workgroup
Hearing from and sharing space with fellow community members only strengthens our collective work to achieve a healthier King County. As part of the Community Care Network’s learning and sharing spaces, the Network Partner Workgroup creates space for relationship building, gauging community needs, sharing community resources and care coordination innovations, and discussing needs related to the Community Information Exchange (CIE) and Connect2 technology. Meetings typically feature at least one organization highlighting their services in addition to input and guidance discussions. This open membership group is facilitated by HealthierHere staff.
Feedback, input, and community participation are invaluable to help create future workgroup meetings. If you are interested in learning more, sharing more about your organization, or uplifting a specific service/program during a future meeting, please reach out to Olivia Butkowski, Network Capacity Building Program Manager, at obutkowski@healthierhere.org.
